Alamogordo, NM is located in Tularosa Basin, has a population of around 35,000 people and has a wonderful mild climate!

The main attraction of this area is the White Sands National Monument - which is a formation of sand/gypsum which like the beach in Florida.. just bring your own water!

There are beautiful sunsets here, gorgeous mountain views, skiing nearby, hiking trails; trees and fresh air!

In town there you will find: WalMart, KMart, Chilis, Applebees, Sonic, Wendy's, Taco Bell and MacDonalds and a small with a small collection of stores like Beals and JC Penney.

El Paso is about 80 miles away and has a very nice mall, World Market, Michaels, furniture stores, restaurants you will find in any big city.

Las Cruces is a little closer about 65 miles and has Barnes and Noble, Dillards, and the closest Starbucks!

A great surprise was the town of Ruidoso - it is about an hour away and has very cute streets lined with boutiques and interesting shops; mom and pop restaurants and reminds of Vale, CO..

One must drive down Scenic Hwy in Alamogordo to truly appreciate this little town, definately stop at Plateau Espresso - where they have suprisingly good coffee and fresh deserts. It is literally located on top of Alamogordo.

Stop by Eddie's Burritos on 1st Street (right past WalMart on the righ hand side) - for an amazing lunch! Go to an enchanting place called "Memories" for lunch too. It is a quaint little restaurant in an old Victorian home downtown.

For dinner, enjoy patio dining at Casa de Suenos 10 min out of town North or the famous Stella Vita in town!

There are several nice neighborhoods to chose from: around the Golf Course; along Scenic; some pockets of new construction throughout.
